New Statutory Right - Bereaved Partner Paternity Leave

New Statutory Right - Bereaved Partner Paternity Leave

We are in a landscape of evolving employee rights across all sizes of organisations. From April 2026 (now), paternity leave rights now include a provision for a bereaved partner to take up to 52 weeks of unpaid leave. From the 1st day of employment, the right to request paternity leave is also now applicable. See the article below if you need help navigating. Reach out to the appropriate HR support, such as DMGB People Solutions, who will be happy to help you navigate. Note to employers, your policy documents will need to be updated with this and other aspects of evolving employment law in the UK.
